MCP integration

Connect an MCP client to VoiceLab to generate text and speech, transcribe recordings, or remove background noise.

What is MCP?

Model Context Protocol lets agents call tools. VoiceLab's MCP server wraps selected REST endpoints, with the same permissions, credits, and API limits. Check tools/list for the schemas available on your server.

When to use MCP

Use MCP when your agent supports it. Use the REST API for application workflows, endpoints without an MCP tool, or direct control over requests and retries.

Hosted vs self-hosted

SetupRequirements
HostedConnect to https://mcp.voicelab.uz/mcp with an operator-issued gateway token. Your client must support Streamable HTTP and Bearer authentication. Calls use the operator's account.
Self-hostedBuild from source with Node.js 20+ and your own VoiceLab API key. Run locally over stdio or serve remote clients over HTTP.

Available tools

The Node server provides 22 tools for LLM completions, TTS, STT, Voice Isolator, and realtime tickets. See the tool reference for inputs and results. Use REST for voice cloning, LLM file uploads, and webhook management.
